Go PHP 5
Beginning with version 1.1, IceBB will begin accepting PHP 5.2 features into its codebase. PHP 5.2 offers many new object-oriented features that will allow us to make IceBB's code much cleaner and avoid code duplication. Unfortunately, many web hosts do not yet support PHP 5, even though it has already been out and in use for three years.
Therefore, along with many other open source projects, IceBB has joined the Go PHP 5 initiative, which is designed to increase PHP 5 penetration. By February 5th, 2008 or earlier, new versions of IceBB will no longer provide support for PHP 4.
IceBB 1.0 and earlier will continue to work with PHP 4 after this time, but keep in mind that official support for these versions may be discontinued at any time.
